Wine - Food - Ambience
The first plantings at Mudbrick Waiheke were in 1992 by Nick and Robyn Jones, who still own and operate the property today. The planted area is now on two distinctively different sites: the Mudbrick Vineyard at Church Bay and Shepherds Point Vineyard at Onetangi.
Plantings currently include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Syrah Chardonnay, and Viognier. Handpicking, hand plunging, and gentle basket pressing reflect the character of our wines. Our Chardonnay exhibits the vibrancy of dry hot Waiheke summers.
The Mudbrick Restaurant
Our flagship restaurant The Mudbrick offers an upmarket dining experience for any occasion. Day or night views across the Hauraki Gulf back to Auckland city are simply breathtaking. The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, and a spectacular menu to match, with chefs who have won international acclaim showcasing the best NZ ingredients.
Cellar Door
We conduct wine tastings from our cellar door 7 days a week, year round. If you are coming to visit Mudbrick for a tasting and you have less than 10 guests you do not need to make a booking, just come along. A collection of locally produced products and gifts are available for purchase from our cellar shop as well as a retail wine and gift packs. Our Cellar Door is open from 10.00 am until approximately 5.30pm during the summer season.
Our Cellar Door is open all year round, but hours are slightly shorter during the colder months and when there is an exclusive evening booking. Please phone (09) 372 9050 to confirm opening hours.
