Located on the stunning west coast of Waiheke Island, Cable Bay Vineyards grew from a vision to hand-craft outstanding wines from the highest quality fruit, grown in small lot vineyards. Our first vineyard was in 1998 with Chardonnay and Bordeaux varieties – we now grow more than 10 different varieties and have received numerous awards confirming our dedication to producing expressive New Zealand wines, known for their subtlety, elegance and depth.
Our stunning venue on Waiheke Island includes the elegant, yet relaxed, Dining Room with an à la carte menu offering fresh, vibrant and beautifully plated dishes which showcase seasonal produce from our organic kitchen gardens. The Verandah restaurant’s casual and contemporary setting offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu of sharing plates. The venue includes a working winery, cellar door for wine tasting, private event rooms, and the beloved grass lawn with breath-taking sea views. Shaded lounge settings, bean bags and picnic rugs provide the perfect spot to stretch out and relax.

Offering a menu of sharing plates, slow-roasted meats and pizzas from our outdoor kitchen with wood-fire oven, you are guaranteed to find something to tempt you.

Enjoyable evening!
There are two dining options - the Verandah and the Dining Room. The Verandah is less formal and the menu is a combination of pizzas and sharing plates. I booked on line which was very easy with instant confirmation of the booking. The latest booking appeared to be 5.45pm for the Verandah. We chose pizza and 3-4 salads which were great and if sharing works out to be good value. The only disappointment was the service, quite slow and not overly attentive or friendly.
