Come and join Monica, Charlie, and Lincoln for a fascinating and insightful wander through the wetlands.
Rangihoua is one of the seven wetlands that the Waiheke Resources Trust’s Love our Wetlands project is currently restoring. Through this mahi, they are creating vibrant habitats where our native species can thrive, as you walk through the wetlands you can see and hear the changes as birds return, trees grow, and the wetlands flourish. This relaxing walk will include stops to discuss the unique birds, insects, fish, and plants of the wetlands – as well as the restoration work.
Monica Peters from Te Korowai o Waiheke is a wetlands expert and co-author of ‘Life in the Shallows’; she will be joined by bird nerd Charlie Thomas and Lincoln Jackson from Love our Wetlands.
The 2-hour walk is suitable for the moderately fit and those 6 and over.
