In 2006 we offically became "Waiheke Gymnastics Club Incorporated". We now have a membership of nearly 100 children, coaches and officials and are one of the largest, long running children's sport on Waiheke Island.
Waiheke Gym Club is an artistic gymnastics club located at the Recreation Centre at Waiheke High School. We offer a range of general gymnastics classes for girls and boys aged 1 to 12 and competitive gymnastics for boys and girls at Junior levels.
At Waiheke Gymnastics our emphasis is on enjoying gymnastics while working to the best of your ability and there is no previous experience required for any of our general gym classes. The club is an incorporated society which is affiliated to GymSports New Zealand. It is a non-profit organisation, not a business. The Club is run by a voluntary committee of parents.
PlayGym
PlayGym (for under 5-year-olds) is built on the belief that moving and learning together is fun. It embraces a philosophy of providing open-ended, broad-based, child-centered and fundamental activities to promote the development of children into healthy, active and social adults. Classes only run in school term time. Age groups stated for each class are just guidelines, please feel free to join in the one that suits your child.
Class Times: 10.30 am – 11.30 am
Rates: The casual rate is $10 per session per child or $15 for siblings. Enrollments are for a term are available. Cost is $70 per child or $100 for 2 siblings.
GymFun – Gymnastic Fundamentals
A gymnastic based programme of developmental activities. These form the basic and fundamental movement skills and body management present in all active sports and games. Classes run only in school term time. Enrolment in class is for the entire term unless otherwise advertised.
Monday 4 pm- 5pm, 5-6 years, Boys/Girls, $100 per term.
Monday 5pm – 6pm, 7-9 years, Boys/Girls, $100 per term.
Recreational Gymnastics
This is based on a set of routines developed by coaches and judges in the greater Auckland region in 2011.
We offer two-hour classes on:
Monday 5pm – 6.30 pm
Thursday 3:45 pm – 5.45 pm
Saturdays 10.00 am – 12 pm
Fees: Monday or Thursday only $150 per term,
Monday and Thursday $250 per term.
