A Musical Education: Whittaker’s Musical Experience
The Museum is a wonderful, educational venue for all school classes – right through from primary to college and university. A visit here can encourage students to begin learning an instrument. During School Holidays free “Live Shows” are performed for all students.
Our live show of 90 minutes combines 30 years of teaching, broadcasting and recording experience; playing and giving a brief history and their use. You will be entertained with music all will enjoy from the youngest to the oldest, and afterwards you have an opportunity to play an instrument of your choice, or pedal a pianola. It’s fun as well as exciting, and we call it: Whittaker’s Musical Experience.
Take the kids camping
Warmer weather is on its way and whilst it could still be relatively unsettled you might get the place to yourself. The flat campground is set back from a beautiful bay and child friendly beach, and the park offers a number of places to explore and escape from washing up duties. Visit this page for further information about camping on Waiheke within Whakanewha Regional park.
Waiheke Cinema
View their website for a schedule of films to be shown over the holiday period.
Oneroa Village
Plenty has been happening in the village over the winter months with a number of refurbishments and new shops opening in Oneroa. Take a walk, browse the shops, grab a coffee and a tasty lunch, and while you are there don’t miss the opportunity to take the children into Sweets and More, the sweetest shop in the village – bound to excite kids of all ages.
