Palm Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the northern side of the island. It is considered a safe swimming beach with calm water while the beach itself is a sunny stretch of white sand.
It has a fantastic and very safe children’s playground and grassed area with public toilets, gas BBQ, and picnic tables. A second picnic area is located at the eastern end of the beach, under the giant phoenix palms which give the beach it’s name. This also includes a gas BBQ and picnic tables.
It is worth noting that at the western end of the beach there is another small bay separated from the main beach by a small outcrop of rocks. This small bay is frequently used by nudists, and is known as Little Palm.
Local amenities include the Palm Beach Store which has a range of goods and sells ice-creams and Arcadia a stunning cafe / restaurant that has a nice beach vibe that is casual and stylish.
Getting there by public transport is easy, take the No 2 bus which runs in between Matiatia – Palm Beach – Rocky Bay.
