Waiheke Island is a great place for artists, with many different initiatives available for resident artists like Waiheke artist Paula Richa. Paula is participating in many of these initiatives on the island, such as;
The Waiheke Winter’s Art Festival
During this festival Paula opens up her art studio for visitors on the Queen’s Birthday weekend
Upcycle Waiheke
Paula is part of a collective of Waiheke artists and crafters. She had her first solo exhibition in 2011 and also permanently displays her work as well as at different collective exhibitions throughout the year like “Blue Spaces”, ”Jostle”, “Reclaim To Fame” and “The Member’s Exhibition” as well as at the The Waiheke Community Art Gallery , where she was invited to display her second solo exhibition back in 2012 and a joint exhibition in 2014 with another Waiheke artist.
She describes as “her work guiding her into right and comfortable feelings, like a wave of warmth and happiness” If you are interested in viewing more of Paula’s art, she is part of the Waiheke’s Art Map, and you are welcome to come to her studio on Waiheke Island or by requesting photos via e-mail, get in contact using the contact details above.
